Enemy Aircraft Destroyed

(12.33 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Jan. 12. Since Japan entered the war the Allied air forces in the South-west Pacific had destroyed 2682 enemy aircraft. probably destroyed 823 and damaged 808. said the Air Minister (Mr A. S. Drakeford) to-night. Tire R.A.A.F. casualties to date in all theatres of war numbered 7764, of whom 3899 had been killed, had died, or were presumed dead. More than 18.000 members of the R.A.A.F. were on active service in theatres of war outside the South-west Pacific.
