British Mission Arrives

(N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 11. Members of the mission from the Eastern Group Supply Council, India, arrived in Wellington from Rotorua to-day, accompanied by the Commissioner of Supply (Mr F. R. Picot), and were met at the station by Captain H. G. Helmore on behalf of the Gov-ernor-General (Sir Cyril Newall), and by the Hon. D. G. Sullivan on behalf of the Government. Also present were the Secretary of the Treasury (Mr B. C. Ashwin), the QuartermasterGeneral (Brigadier H. E. Avery), and the Hon. F. E. Cumming-Bruce, representing the United Kingdom High Commissioner (Sir Harry Batterbee). The mission called on the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) and Mr Sullivan, and made other official contacts. It will be in Wellington for only a few days. Members of the mission arc Mr I. F. L. Elliot, chairman of the British Ministry of Supply Mission in India; Major-General R. p. Pakenham - Walsh, Director-General, War Provisions, Eastern Group; Mr F. H. Harrison, supply and munitions expert, of the British Ministry of Supply; and Major Sir Thomas Berney, staff officer to Major-General Pakenham-Walsh. ...
