Enemy Aircraft-carriers In South Pacific
(Rec. 11 pun.) LOS ANGELES. Jan. 7. "The powers that be decided to concentrate on the other side, so wc shall await our turn, but after the boys rou up Europe the South Pacific will get quantities of men and material and soon thereafter there will be a huge celebration where Tokio used to be. This was stated by Admiral WfF. Halsev, Commander of the Allied Fleet in the South Pacific, at a press conference on his return to the united States for the first time since June, Commenting on the South Pacific situation. Admiral Halsey said more men and material were needed. That was a normal request for any fighting man. American losses in the South Pacific were the ratio of one American to 10 Japanese. He added that that was the approximate ratio of the Japanese and American ability as fighters. Admiral Halsev revealed that units of the British Navy served under him on several occasions fighting alongside the Americans with perfect cooperation. At present two Japanese aircraft-carriers operating in the South Pacific had not yet been located.
