Mrs Dreaver’s Position PURELY VOLUNTARY WORK (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 11. Referring to the statement that Mrs Mary Dreaver had been appointed liaison officer between the Government and the National Service Department to facilitate the solution of the present farm labour problems and to further the organisation of the Women’s Land Sevices, the Minister for Manpower (the Hon. A. McLagan) states that the statement is absolutely contrary to fact. The Ministe said that Mrs Dreaver who. with Mrs W. J. Polson, played a valuable part in the previous recruiting campaign for the Women’s Land Service, recently volunteered her services in her own time and with no thought of payment to assist the Govenment with its present recruiting drive for the Women's Land Service. The offer was gratefully accepted. Mrs Dreaver was at present carrying out an itinerary which she has arranged with the Director of National Service for the sole pupose of encouraging girls to enlist in the Women’s Land Service. ■ She has not been appointed to a post as liaison officer with the Department. She is not concerning herself with the organisation of the Women’s Land Service, nor is she being paid any salary for the arduous work she so willingly offered to perform to assist the country's war effort.
