Toll of Enemy Planes
From the tune of the Allied landings in North Africa to August 13, 2883 Axis planes were destroyed in air combat and 1700 taken on captured aerodromes in Tunisia. Pantelaria and Sicily says an Algiers message. North African planes in the same period sank 179 ships, totalling 670.000 tons.
Sale ol’ Army Trucks More than 200 of the used Army trucks which have been placed on sale at Cornwall Park. Auckland, have now been purchased. It is for Uie benefit ot buyers north of and including Warkworth. About 450 vehicles were assembled for the sale.
