A CHANGE OF WIND
Japanese Gassed Instead Of Chinese (Rec. 9.40 p.m.) LONDON. Jan. 28. A Chungking report states that the Japanese attempted to use poison gas against the Chinese in Southern Shansi, but the wind changed, gassing their own ranks and killing hundreds. This was announced in a Chinese communique.
Japanese bombers attacked the Chinese positions. Most of the bombs hit the Japanese lines. A Japanese offensive in Northern Hupeh was repulsed with 1300 casualties.
