Discharge Of Soldiers From Overseas (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 21. An undertaking given some time ago that men who had served overseas, and who were unlikely to again become fit for active service, would be discharged from the Forces to the reserve, is covered by an amendment to ’ the National Service Emergency Regulations gazetted to-night. In the past the Adjutant-General has had authority to discharge only those returned soldiers whe were graded as permanently unfit. The amendment gives him power to grant discharges to men who have served overseas in the present war and who have been returned to New Zealand and who are unlikely to become fit for further active service. This will have the effect of facilitating the rehabilitation of such men.
