President Roosevelt has appointed a former Senator, Mr Prentiss M. Brown, as Price Administrator, in succession to Mr Leon Henderson.
Received by King The King at Buckingham Palace received in audience Mr Anthony Eden and Vice-Admiral Stuart BonhamCarter, who was'Naval Secretary to the First Lord of the Admiralty.
Nutrition Campaign Miss W. M. Stenhouse, dietitian at the Women’s College, Sydney University, has been appointed to an important position in the Commonwealth Government’s nutrition campaign. She will assist Dr. Clements, Commonwealth nutrition expert, in the campaign to teach Australians to make the best use of available foods. It <s understood that Miss Stenhouse had been selected as dietitian to the Auc :- land Hospital, but she will now remain in Australia.
Japanese Freighter Sunk An American weather plane patrolling the Aleutians sank a Japanese freighter in Holtz- Bay, Attu. Two bombs turned the ship over. The third sent it to the bottom.
Invitation to Visit Australia The “New York Post” says that Mr Wendell Willkie has been invited to visit Australia and may make that country his next port of call. Mr Willkie told the Associated Australian Press: “My only comment is I am certainly willing to go.''
