REUNION AT CAIRO
Timaru High School Old Boys A very pleasant dinner at the Parisiana Restaurant, Sharia Elfi Bey, Cairo, marked the first reunion in the Middle East of Timaru High School Old Boys, says the “N.Z.E.F. Times." Major Bob Pearson, senior ranking old boy present, was “0.C.” proceedings and Major W. G. Tweedy of the Board of Governors was happily “in the team.” Toasts to “The School" and "The Board of Governors” and “Absent Old Boys.” proposed by Sergeant Pilot Bill Kennedy, R.N.Z.A.F., Captain lan Murchison, M.C.. and Captain Allan Monaghan in that order were honoured. Major Tweedy suitably replied on behalf of the board. Sergeant Selby Taylor, who has carried his school cap through three or four campaigns, was given unanimous permission to wear it during the dinner. He led in the school song. etc., and “Maperu." A vote of thanks to Lieutenant. Bill Reid and SergeantMajor Ted Sullivan for “getting the ship afloat" concluded a most successful evening. Those present were Major Bob Pearson.
