CLEARING MINES
Hungarians Use Jews
LONDON. January 7.
The Hungarians are using Jews on the Russian front for clearing mines, reports the Moscow radio. The Jews have been rounded up from the streets and homes and shipped to the front where they are chased over minefields to explode the mines. Some of them managed to reach the Russians. They wore bowler hats and lounge suits. One wore pyjamas. A diary found on a dead German stated: "We have a new game. We make all sorts of people clear the minefields. It is great fun.”
