62 Children In Residence The children at the South Canterbury Health Camp at Geraldine enjoyed their first bathe in the Domain Baths yesterday morning. There are now 62 children in the camp and gifts of vegetables are coming in well. It is probable that more residents will offer their surplus vegetables to the health camp committee. “All the children are well and no sickness has occurred at the camp.” said Matron K. McGuire, yesterday. “Their appetites, due to the change and outdoor life, are very hearty.” Local residents, parents and others interested will be granted an opportunity to visit the camp to-morrow afternoon. A special service will be held from 3 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. WOODBURY COUNTRY FAIR The question of holding a country fair this year was fully discussed at a meeting at Woodbury, and it was decided to hold one on March 6. the proceeds to be for patriotic purposes. Thus it was made possible for the Geraldine District to arrange a big function for Easter Saturday, the day usually favoured the Woodbury-Tripp Settlement County Fair Committee. Officers were elected as follows President. Mr H. Scott; chairman of committee, Mrs S. C. Chisnail; secre-tary-treasurer, Mr G. F. Brown and assistant. Mr G. Cain. Mr A. J. Kennedy, the retiring president was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks for his work, and regret was expressed that he was unable to continue in office. Conveners were appointed for various sub-committees. Various sports and side shows were planned.
