SPECIAL FUNCTION ARRANGED
Local Body Representatives To Meet Governor
At the invitation of Major P. H. Johnson, the members of South Canterbury County Councils. Borough Councils and Town Boards, the South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, the South Canterbury’ Primary Production Council and committees, will visit Pioneer Park. Raincliff, on Thursday where they’ will be given an opportunity to meet their Excellencies, Sir Cyril and Lady Newall, at an informal function. Their Excellencies will each plant a tree during the afternoon. It was originally intended by the Scout leaders to break camp on
Thursday, but owing to this function taking place, they have been requested by Major Johnson to remain an extra day in camp.
Owing to the nature of the road and the number of cars expected to arrive at Pioneer Park, the Scouts will patrol from the Raincliff bridge to the Pio’ie t Park. The Scouts will assist motorists with regard to road direction and parking and will also be on duty at Pioneer Park.
