RUBBER SHORTAGE
(6.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Mar. 5. The extreme seriousness of the rubber situation was emphasised by Mr Henderson Peice (Administrator- and Director of Civilian Supplies) when he told the Senate Committee that not a single pound of crude rubber would be available for new tyres or re-treads on upwards of 30,000,000 private cars in the United States.
