E.P.S. BULLETIN
reduced lighting SHOPS. —The Reduced Lighting Regulations call for shop lights to be so shielded with opaque shades that no direct rays will be emitted or fall on the footpath. The shop lights from the street or footpath should be visible. Shades must be brought low enough to cut off the rays inside the line of the building. • Fanlights and skylights must be blacked out with opaque material. With the longer summer days reducing the need for shop lights, many shades have become displaced. Householders should pay particular attention to fanlights, glass doors, and sleeping porches. These must be covered with opaque material. Brown paper, light coloured blinds or curtains are not opaque materials. When fanlights are opened, the lights should be screened off with opaque material.
