TENNIS CLUB r There was a good attendance at the third annual meeting of the Esk Valley Tennis Club, which was held on Tuesday evening. The president (Mrs Hewson) thanked members for their cooperation during the past season and said the year had been most successful, there being a good credit balance. Many friendly matches had been played with success during the season. The secretary's report was read and adopted. The treasurer presented the financial statement. The resignation of the secretary, Mr N. Gray, was received with regret, and Mrs Bishop thanked him for his wholehearted support and wished him every success in his new sphere. Opening day was fixed for Saturday next. The election of officers resulted: President, Mrs Hewson; secretary, Miss B. Hart; treasurer, Mr C. Hewson; club captains, Mrs Bishop and Mr D. Gray.
