SOUTHBURN
SPINSTERS’ AND BACHELORS’ BALL Mr* W. Bell’s granary was gaily decorated with green and lemon streamers and Chinese lanterns, on the occasion of the Southburn spinsters’ and bachelors’ ball. The evening was spent in dancing to music supplied bv Messrs G. and F. Hoare. H. Clarkson, G. McMillan and J. Burt, with extras by Miss Myra Evans and Messrs F. Hoare and J. Burt.
The grand march was led by the joint secretaries, Miss W. Bell and Mr W. Kinross, the former's frock being of a deep cyclamen shade. At Monte Carlo was won bv Mr A. Hill and partner. During the evening Mr W. Kinross took the opportunity of thanking everyone who helped in making the ball a success.
A pleasant interlude was provided by Mr G. McMillan, who sang two cowboy sonvs.
