Exchanging uniforms for brigadiers and colonels of the Canadian corps to Britain have been undergoing an intensive three days’ course in the practical side of the maintenance and repair of mechanical transport. The object of the course was to give them a practical understaqdtog of mechanical problems and ensure a common policy in the maintenance and inspection of motor transport. After lectures on their own responsibilities for equipment and the responsibilities of all sections down to lorry drivers and dispatch riders, the officers were given with the aid of a stripped chassis demonstrations in the detailed mechanism of various types of vehicles. Afterwards they performed actual maintenance jobs on lorries, station waggon staff cars and Bren gun carriers.
