HARBOUR REVENUE

A Substantial Decrease (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 7. Revenue from shipping operations at Lyttelton has shown a substantial decrease during the last seven months compared with the corresponding period of the previous financial year. During April, £7936 was paid into the Lyttelton Harbour Fund Account, compared with £8445 for April, 1940, a decrease of £509. The total receipts for the last seven months were £47,028, against £60,293 last year, a decrease of £13,265. As authorised at the last meeting of the Lyttelton Harbour Board, said the secretary and treasurer (Mr P. W. Fryer) at to-day’s meeting, a transfer of £5OOO had been made from the special renewal fund to the harbour fund, which now showed a credit of £3576. from which accounts amounting to £1683 had to be paid.
