DIVIDENDS DECLARED The directors of Tui Brewery, Ltd, recommend a final dividend of 3d per share payable on December 5, making 1/- per share, or 5 per cent for the year. Transfer books close from November 19 to November 27, both days inclusive. Last year’s dividend was 8 per cent, and that for the previous period Hi per cent. The Manawatu Knitting Mills dividend recommendation is a 7 per cent final, making 10 per cent for the year ended October 21. The company paid no dividend during the last two years. TAXES AND PROFITS What was left out of £14,454 net profits made last year by the Golden Bay Cement Company, said Mr J. M. Hott, chairman, at the annual meeting of the company, was £4147 for division among the shareholders. Taxation in New Zealand took £10,260 of the £14,454, taxation in Australia took £46/14/1, and what was left went to the shareholders.
