I can give an unqualified assurance that the Navy is on the alert over the Seven Seas, always ready at its action stations and quietly confident. During this time of waiting our aim must be an ever greater intensification of our war effort. There is much talk about war aims. Here is one of them which brooks no denial or delay. Our working men and women have responded magnificently to every call made upon them. Their reward must be a new Britain. Peace will come. Never again must the unemployed become the forgotten men of the peace. —Mr A. V. Alexander. •
