BOWLING
PATRIOTIC TOURNAMENT A successful patriotic mixed fours tournament was held on the Kia Toa green yesterday. Conditions were ideal for bowling, and many close and enjoyable games were witnessed. The tournament w'as won by D. N. Adams’s rink with four wins. Results:— First round—Greenfield (s), Mrs Greenfield, Miss Stocker. Rippin 12 v. Lynskey (s), Calder, Miss F. Bradley, Mass Crowe 9. Adams (s), Dass, Mrs Kirkwood, Miss Strachan 20 v. Marhall (s), Mrs Stevens (Park), Hill, Mrs Dass 10. Taylor (s), Mrs Richardson, Murray. Mrs Gledhill 4 v. Ramage (s), Dickson, Mrs Story, Mrs Moore 20. Gray (s), Mrs Gray, Mrs Fahey Atkinson 12 v. Bradley (s), Mrs Laverty, Mrs Minifie, Thomson 11. Second Round—Taylor 13 v. Lynskey 10; Adams 15 v. Greenfield 10; Marshall 10 v. Gray 16; Ramage 8 v. Bradley 11. Third round—Lynskey 11 v. Bradley 16; Marshall 7 v. Greenfield 16; Ramage 9 v. Adams 15; Taylor 20 v. Gray 8. Fourth round —Bradley 10 v. Adams 14- Lynskey 8 v. Ramage 14; Marshall 12 v. Taylor 17; Greenfield 15 v. Gray 17 The trophies were presented to the winners by the president, Mr J. Ramage, who 'congratulated them on their consistent bowling.
