WEDDING
HENNESSY—STUDHOLME The marriage took place yesterday afternoon at St. Augustine’s Church, Waimate, of Rosalind Carlysle, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs E. C. Studholme, “Te Waimate,” and James Michael, younger son of Captain G. T. Hennessy, “Garry Owen,” Morven and Mrs Hennessy, England. The Rev. A. H. Acheson performed the ceremony, assisted by the Rev. F. C. Main, Waihao Downs, and Mrs G. Palmer played the wedding music. The church had been decorated with arum lilies and pink and white rhododendrons. The bride, who was unattended, entered the church with her brother, Mr David Studholme. Her frock of white chiifon was made with a long sleeved bodice, gathered in the front and outlined at the neck with pearls. The circular skirt was fashioned at the back with a three-quarter length panel shirred at the waistline. She wore a wide-brim-med white straw hat and carried a bouquet of pale pink abutilons. Mr D. L. Studholme was best man. Later a reception was held at “Te Waimate” where the guests were received by the bride’s father and mother. Mrs Studholme wore a frock of shaded crepe-de-chene in tones of navy and pale blue and a white hat. When the bride and bridegroom left on their honeymoon, the bride was wearing a navy blue frock and coat embroidered in white and a white hat.
