Professor C. R. Knight, professor of architecture at Auckland University College, will resign from the college council at the expiry of his term of office as a representative of the Professorial Board on December 31. The resignation was received with regret by the council. Mr W. F. H. Stone has been appointed secretary of the Invercargill Returned Soldiers' Associatiop. Mr Stone enlisted with the Otago Mounted Rifles in the last war. He left New Zealand with the Main Body and served for four years and a-half overseas. He has been a member of the executive for several years and recently he has occupied the position of treasurer Flight Lieutenant Minden Vaughan Blake, a son of Mr C. M. Blake, headmaster of the Heathcote School, has been made a controller of operations with the rank of squadron leader. He was well known in Christchurch, having been nominated from the University College for a Rhodes Scholarship in 1936 after a distinguished career. He was educated at Southbridge, Christhurch Boys’ High School Wellington College, and the Southland Boys’ High School.
