WEATHER SOUTH CANTERBURY FORECAST

FAIR AND COOL (Special to "The Timaru Herald.") WELLINGTON. November 21. Winds —Fresh southerly winds on parts of the coast, otherwise light to moderate and variable. Weather —Fair with cool but rising temperatures. Seas —Slight to moderate but with a decreasing southerly swell. DOMINION FORECAST General Situation Pressure is still low east of the South Island. An anti-cyclone is advancing across the southern portion of the Tasman Sea. Winds—South to south-west prevailing almost generally, force fresh to strong at first in North Auckland and on the east coast north of Akaroa, but gradually decreasing and otherwise light or moderate. Seas (New Zealand waters)—Rough north of Cape Egmont and between East Cape and Akaroa but decreasing slowly, elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea Moderate south-west winds, tending northwesterly in the south; seas moderate. Weather —Fair to fine in western districts from Taranaki southwards, elsewhere cool and changeable with a few scattered showers but conditions improving from the south; becoming unsettled again in south Westland; some frosts in the south Island but temperatures rising slowly.
