King Boris of Bulgaria paid a private visit to Germany and had a conversation with Hitler at Berchtesgaden on Saturday. The Stefani News Agency says that King Boris left for Sofia immediately after the conversation. News of the meeting caused a sensation in Sofia. General Antonescu (Prime Minister of Rumania) had scarcely returned to Bucharest from Rome when reports were circulated that he is to go to Berlin next Friday for a conference with Hitler, who to-day conferred with Senor Suner (Spanish Foreign Minister) and Count Ciano and entertained them at a tea party. General Antonescu telegraphed to Mussolini: “The Rumanian Chief of State sends II Duce heartiest and sincerest wishes and deep gratitude, and expresses boundless admiration for the manner in which a member of the Roman family of nations prepares the way not only for the life of his own great people, but also for that of other nations.”
