NOTED CAPTAIN DEAD
Former Cunard Commodore United Press Association—By piectrlc Telegraph—Copyright (Received November 6, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, November 5. The death is announced of Captain Sir Arthur Henry Rostron, aged 71. When captain of the Carpathia tn 1912, he rescued 705 survivors from the Titanic, being 1 the first to pick up the SOS. He was commodore of the Cunard fleet from 1928 to 1931, when he retired, earlier commands including the Mauretania and Berengaria.
