No Taxation Increase United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, October 17. Delivering his Budget speech last night, in the New South Wales Assembly, the Treasurer (Mr A. Richardson) estimated that the deficit for the year would be £1,539,000. He explained that there would be no additional taxation, but remissions of taxation aggregating £500,000 would be made to persons with dependents whose salaries did not exceed £4/5/weekly, who would be exempt from payment of the wages and social services tax. Travelling concessions and other privileges granted to the men in the fighting services and in training for home defence would cost the Government in the current year in the vicinity of £850,000.
