YOUNG MAN DROWNED
Boat Capsized In Squall By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, October 13. In spite of the efforts of his companions to save him, a youth was drowned when his boat was struck by a heavy squall and overturned in Manukau harbour to-day. The victim was Vernon Walford Hlnsley, a sheet metal worker, aged 20, of Onehunga. Four other youths In the boat were rescued by two small craft after long periods in a boisterous sea. Hlnsley was unable to swim well, but was supported by two companions. When they were rescued resuscitation was applied to Hlnsley but without success.
