LATE MR J. M. H. TRIPP

THE FUNERAL There was a large attendance at the funeral of Mr J. M. H. Tripp, which took place at the Arundel Cemetery yesterday. The service was taken by the Rev. Canon A. H. Norris and at the graveside Mr C. J. Ashby provided cornet accompaniment to the hymn, “Abide With Me.” The chief mourners were Mrs J. M. H. Tripp and Dr Peter Tripp, Mr Leonard Tripp. Mrs C. M. H. Stopford and Mrs A. Hope. The pall-bearers were Messrs John Tripp, J. M. Polhill, J. Acland, L. McLeod, H. Ford and George Chapman. There was a large number of beautiful wreaths including those from the Timaru Centre of the Red Cross Society, the president and committee of the Geraldine Plunket Society, the committee and members of the Victoria League of Canterbury, Peel Forest Horticultural Society, Peel Forest Park Board, Peel Forest Tennis Club, the members of the Geraldine and Red Cross Centre and members of the Geraldine Red Cross Detachment, the Masonic Lodge (Geraldine), the Mayor of Geraldine, the Geraldine Horticultural Society, Geraldine County Council, Arundel Sunday School, the Canterbury Farmers Co-operative Association (Geraldine), the pupils of the Orari Bridge School, the staff at “Silverton,” Arundel Red Cross SubCentre, the men of Orari Gorge station, the manager and staff of the Union Bank of Australia (Geraldine), members of St. Barnabas Guild (Peel Forest), the Vestry of the Parish of Geraldine, Peel Forest Women's War Workers’ Guild, Arundel Women’s Institute, the members of the Geraldine Returned Soldiers’ Association, Gapes and Beautiful Valley Sub-Centre of the Red Cross, School Committee, Teacher and Pupils of Arundel School, manager and staff of Pyne, Gould. Guinness, Ltd. (Geraldine), Morrison Brothers (Geraldine), Peel Forest School Children, directors and general manager of Canterbury Frozen Meat Company (Christchurch), the Geraldine Collie Dog Club.
