Attention is drawn to the railway advertisement appearing in this issue giving particulars of excursion fares and train arrangements for the South Canterbury Jockey Club’s Meeting on October 19. The Navy Queen Committee will collect goods for an auction sale to-day from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Generous help will be appreciated. The Girls’ Harmonica Band is holding a euchre in the Trades Hall, Cannon Street, opposite Ballantynes on Monday night, October 14, at 8 o’clock. A clearing sale of superior household furniture and effects will be held by Morton and Co., Ltd. on Wednesday next at 1.30 p.m. at 55 Rathmore Street on account Mr T. Gudsell. Fuller particulars are in the auction columns. A sale by auction of two iate model Ford cars will be held by Morton and Co Ltd. in their Mart on Friday next at 2 p.m., acting under instructions from the Public Trustee as executor of the will of H. H. Klngham. These cars are in perfect order and condition and may be inspected the morning of the sale. The Scottish Society’s weekly dance in the Scottish Hall is a favourite rendezvous for lovers of dancing.
