GERALDINE YEAR REVIEWED
Cribbage Association Competition To Start This Month Last season was a very successful one and the games were greatly enjoyed, stated the report presented at the annual meeting o the Geraldine and District Cribbage Association. The committee extended its thanks to Mr and Mrs J. Afield for their kindness during the year and to Messrs G. Watts and R. Pye for the use of their rooms. Thanks v ere also extended to all who had assisted to make the season a successful and pleasant one. The report and balance-sheet, which disclosed a credit of £2/10/4, were adopted. Officers were electe’. as follows: President, Mr H. Hill; secretary, Mr G. R. Knibb; treasurer, Mr G. Watts. It was agreed that the competition be opened on April 23. BASKETBALL ANNUAL REPORT Owing largely to the co-operation of the members, last season was successful from all points of view s states the annual report of the Geraldine Basketball Club. A second grade team was entered in the competition and played well throughout the season. Orari Bridge won the Wilson Cup competition. Congratulations are extended to Misses J. Gresham, E. Thompson and M. Gresham who gained representative honours in the second grade of the Temuka competition. The club was unfortunate in losing the services of the secretary (Miss E. McCullough) and members extended to her their best wishes in her new appointment. In conclusion the report thanked all who had assisted to make the season a successful and enjoyable one. EUCHRE SOCIAL Weekly euchre socials were commenced by the Geraldine branch of the Labour Party on Saturday. The prize winners were:—Mrs P. M. McKenzie, Mrs R. U. Richards, Mr Lee and Mr W. E. Foster
PERSONAL Mrs P. H. Hendrv and Mr Maurice Hendry will leave to-day on a visit to Wellington. Mr G. Vial is visiting Wellington on holiday.
