Union Wins Fours And Eights

WANGANUI, February 11.

The Wanganui regatta was held yesterday in wet weather but good water conditions. The feature of the day was the win of Union in the senior fours and eights from Clifton and New South Wales respectively. In the fours Union won by half a length and in the eights by a canvas after a fine finish. R. Smith (Auckland) won the single sculls from K. Webb (New South Wales) by a good margin. Results: —

Maiden Fours (open)—Union 1, Aramoho 2, Victoria University 3. Won by four lengths; one length between second and third.

Senior Fours—Union 1. Clifton 2, Aramoho 3. Won by a length; three lengths between second and third.

Maiden Single Sculls—Petone 1, Aramoho 2, Napier 3. Won by five lengths; two lengths between second and third.

Maiden Fours (10st) —Wanganui 1 Star 2, Clifton 3.

Senior Single Sculls —R. Smith (Auckland) 1, K. Webb (New South Wales) 2, T. Hegglun (Wellington) 3. Won by two lengths; half a length between second and third.

Junior Fours (welter-weight)—Wel-lington 1, Petone 2. Star 3. Won by half a length; same distance between second and third. Maiden Double Sculls—Aramoho 1, Wellington 2, New Plymouth 3. Junior Fours —Aramoho 1, Star 2. Won by four lengths.
