UNITED SUPPORT FOR DALADIER

French House Meets In Secret

United press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright PARIS, February 9. On the motion of the Socialist leader, M. Leon Blum, the French Chamber decided by 262 votes to 227, to hold a secret session to discuss the conduct of the war. The Prime Minister (M. Daladier), expressed the opinion that it would result in more inconveniences than advantages, but he left the decision to the House. On the vote being announced, strangers and the newspaper represen-

tatives quitted the galleries and the Chamber began the first meeting in camera for twenty years. Although the main Conservat’ve groups voted with the Socialists for the session, the Daladier Cabinet was not imperilled as there was no question of confidence involved. Tlie secret session closed after which the Chamber publicly voted unanimous support of the Government. An all party resolution authorised M. Daladlcr “to conduct the war to victory." Industrialists to Meet Leading British and French industrialists, with the approval of their governments, are meeting in London shortly to discuss co-operation during and after the war.
