BULGARIAN BAGPIPES.— The only sphere in which the Bulgarian people never ceased to be active during the long centuries of foreign rule, was song. Sad and spontaneous, with a melodious harmony, these songs that have been sung for generations are still very much a part of the national life. Whenever there are special functions or on festive occasions, the villagers forgather and there have songs and dancing. Here is a Bulgarian piper providing the music.
