United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received February 8, 6.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, February 8. Members of the 2nd Australian Imperial Force, when on active service, will be equipped with six pairs of eyeshialds, two capes and gas-masks of the latest design. In addition they will carry two tins of special ointment which is an effective antidote to mustard-gas burn if applied within a quarter of an hour. Rhodes Scholar In Army Lieutenant Basil Holmes Travers, aged 20 years, an arts student of Sydney University, and now in the second Australian Imperial Forces has been chosen as a 1940 Rhodes Scholar. The scholarship will be held over until the end of the war.
