PRICE INCREASE OF 15 PER CENT. By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND. February 8. An increase of 15 per cent in price to factories and shops of the output of all New Zealand woollen mills came into effect to-<Jay. It was stated that this increase had been approved by the Price Tribunal alter representations by the mills of substantial advances in the cost of the New Zealand clip since last season. It was stated in Auckland that wool prices to mills had increased by more than,3o per cent. Under the Government’s scheme of appraisal the farmer received an average price of 12ld per lb over a wide range of grades and the cost to the mills had gone up very considerably, especially for some of the finer quality wools. It was also explained that in the finished factory article the increase would be on the woollen material used in manufacture; it would not be based on labour cost.
