Dr. A. J. Henderson and Mrs Henderson left Dunedin on Wednesday en route to the Punjab, India, where Dr. Henderson will act as Knox Church’s own missionary in the Presbyterian mission field. The Rt. Rev. L. S. Kempthorne, Anglican Bishop of Polynesia, is expected to arrive at Auckland by the Mariposa on February 17 on his way to attend the General Synod of the Church of England in New Zealand.

Mr P. B, Aldridge, of Dunedin, has been appointed mathematics master at the Gore High School, filling the position vacated by Major T. Fyfe, who is in camp at Burnham with the Second Echelon of the Expeditionary Force.

Advice has been received in Auckland of the death of Leading Writer C. W. Poulson, of the naval minesweeper Sphinx, which was damaged in an enemy air attack last Saturday and subsequently capsized while being towed to port in heavy weather. Mr Poulston, whose home was in Middlesex, served for three years in New Zealand waters in H.M.S. Achilles. He went back to Epgland toward the end of 1938 when the cruiser returned to be recommissioned.

Surgeon-Lieutenant D. M. Page, R.N., formerly of Invercargill, has returned from England to take up duties with the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy. Lieutenant Page is a graduate of the Dental School of Otago University. He was well known tn Otago Rugby circles, being a member of the University A team. He is a brother of the All Black, Captain J. R. Page, who Is a member of the First Echelon of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force,
