His Majesty’s first investitude since the outbreak of war was held at Buckingham Palace when he decorated 11 with the D. 5.0., four with the Military Cross, eight with the D.F.C., and 31 with the D.S.C. Among the last-named were 13 skippers of the Naval Reserve. He handed the Kings Medal to a number of policemen, including three who risked their lives in I.R.A. outrages.
