Messrs M. C. Gresson, M. H. Wilkinson and C. R. Hervey have returned after a visit to Australia.
The official representative of the Archbishop of San Francisco at the National Eucharistic Congress at Wellington next month, the Right Rev. Monsignor C. Ramm, arrived at Auckland by the Monterey.
The Rev. Father James Henley, of Dunedin, and formerly of Invercargill, will leave for Trentham camp to-morrow. He will go overseas with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force as a chaplain.
The presentation of two pieces of silverware and a camping outfit was made by members of the Auckland Stock Exchange to Mr T. Clarkson, who has retired after 14 years’ service as financial editor of the “Auckland Star.”
Mr G. V. Tozer, handicapper to the South Canterbury Centre of the New Zealand Athletic, Cycling and Axemen’s Union, has been appointed handicapper for the Centennial National Athletic Meeting to be held in Wellington on February 16 and 17.
The Most Rev. T. M. Fox, D.D., Bishop of WilcaniaForbes, New South Wales, is in Auckland on his way to Wellington for the National Centennial Eucharistic Congress, accompanied by his secretary, the Rev. Father P S. Carmine. Dr. Fox was in New Zealand last for the diamond jubilee of Archbishop Redwood in 1934.
