BIRD SHOW
BUDGERIGAR SECTION STRONG There were disappointing entries in the canary sections at a bird show held on Saturday by the Timaru Canary and Cage Bird Club. The award for the best bird in the show was won by J. Provan with a yellow budgerigar. Entries in the budgerigar section were good and the birds were of a high standard. Results were: Budgerigars Greens and Olives (10 entries): W. D. Gosling 1 and 3, J. Provan 2. Yellows and Lemons (10): J. Provan 1 and 2, A. Swain 3. Sky Blues GO): F. Emerson 1 and 2, E. Lucas 3. Cobalt and Mauves (9): F. Emerson 1, J. N. Bell 2, J. Provan 3. Greywings, Greens and Olives (4): F. A. King 1, J. N. Bell 2, A. Swain 3. Greywings, Skyblues, Cobalt and Mauve (7): A. Swain 1, W. D. Gosling 2, N. North 3. Whites any suffusion (9): W. D. Gosling 1, A. Swain 2, G. Underhill 3. Whitewing and suffusion (7): W. D. Gosling 1, F. Emerson 2, J. Provan 3. Yellow-wing any suffusion (5): J. N. Bell 1 and 2. Any other colour (3): W. D. Gosling 1, 2 and 3. Canaries Norwich —Clear yellow: W. Gledhill 1. Yellow lightly variegated: W. Gledhill 1. Yorkshire—Buffs clear (5): Mrs S. Johns 1,2 and 3 Heavily variegated (5): L. Farmer 1, Mrs Johns 2 and 3. Lightly variegated: L. Farmer 1.
