DOMINION FORECAST General Situation An extensive but ill-defined depression is moving slowly on to the Dominion; lowest pressures being in the south. Forecast Winds—Moderate to fresh northeasterly to north-westerly prevailing. Seas (New Zealand waters)—Slight to moderate but rising somewhat north of Napier and about Cook and Foveaux Straits. Eastern Tasman Sea—Moderate to strong northerly winds and rather rough seas. Weather —Unsettled with drizzle or light rain at times in most districts; mild and humid conditions continuing with patches of mist or fog still probable, more especially on the East Coast. IN OTHER CENTRES Christchurch: The weather was cloudy to overcast but hot throughout the week-end with a moderate northeast wind. The barometer at 6 p.m. yesterday recorded 29.65 inches (1004.1 millibars). Dunedin: A fresh to strong northcast wind prevailed on Saturday and a heavy mist clung to the hills. Rain threatened towards evening, when the barometer read 29.65 inches (1004 millibars). The maximum temperature was 74 degrees. The sky was overcast yesterday morning, but cleared after mid-day and the ’ sunshone strongly during the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 76 degrees and the barometer was falling slightly in the afternoon at 29.50 inches (999 millibars) .
