DOMINION FORECAST General Situation An anti-cyclone is centred east of the South Island, while a weak depression has formed to the north-east of the North Island. Forecast Winds—From an easterly quarter predominating, moderate to fresh over the northern half of the North Island, elsewhere light or moderate. Seas (New Zealand waters)—Becoming rough in places on the East Coast north of Hawke’s Bay, elsewhere slight or moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea—Light to moderate and variable winds with south-easterlies or southerlies predominating in the northern portion, seas slight but rising in the north. Weather—Scattered rain over the northern half of the North Island, possibly extending later as far south as Taranaki and southern Hawke’s Bay, otherwise fair to fine; temperatures warm.
