Mr W. Jordan, son of the High Commissioner for New Zealand, has interrupted his studies at St. Andrew’s University, Scotland, to Join the Royal Air Force.
The Rev. Stanley C. Read, of East Taieri, has received advice from the Melbourne College of Divinity that he has passed the final examination for the degree of bachelor of divinity.
The appointment of Lieutenant-Colonel R. B. Smythe, D. 5.0., N.Z.S.C.. as Area Staff Officer in Canterbury, was announced yesterday by the Officer Commanding the Southern Military District (Colonel P. H. Bell. D. 5.0.). This position is at present held by Major H. G. Livingstone, who will retain it until the change is made in about two weeks' time.
