DIVER AT WORK
SALVAGING WAIKOUAITI’S CARGO

More than £7OOO worth of cargo was salvaged from the stranded steamer Waikouaiti yesterday. This included cotton, silk, shearing machinery, forty drums of white spirits and also four of the ship’s steel derricks. A fully-equipped diver is at work and is meeting with great success, in spite of heavy seas in Foveaux Strait.
