DOMINION FORECAST General Situation An anti-cyclone of moderate intensity is moving on to the Dominion from the west. Forecast Winds—Light to moderate and variable with westerly directions predominating, but with sea breezes during the day in eastern coastal areas. Seas (New Zealand waters)—Slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea —Light to moderate and variable winds in the northern portion and moderate westerlies to north-westerlies in the southern; sea moderate. Weather—Mainly fair to fine and milder, some scattered light rain at first in the north-eastern portion of the North Island and showers later in the far south-west. IN OTHER CENTRES Christchurch: Yesterday was sunny and cloudless with a cool easterly breeze. The maximum temperature was 65.2 degrees. The barometer at 5 p.m. recorded 30.03 inches (1016.9 millibars) and was rising slowly. Geraldine: Yesterday was fine and warm. Teinuka; Yesterday was fine and warm with a light breeze from the east. The maximum temperature was 72 degrees and minimum 40. The glass was rising last evening. Waimate (for the 24 hours ended 9' a.m. yesterday): Barometer, 29.3; thermometer, maximum, 70.0; minimum, 47.0; bright sunshine, 4 hours 42 minutes; wind gauge, miles run in last 24 hours, 67. Yesterday was sunny with a light breeze in evidence. Dunedin: The sun shone all day yesterday and there was a very slight south-west breeze. The temperature reached a maximum of 74 degrees. The barometer was rising in the early evening at 30.09 inches (1019 millibars).
