REFUGEE DOCTOR

FALSE RUMOURS ABROAD By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON. January 16. Messrs Haldane and Taylor, solicitors, issued the following statement to-day: “Persistent rumours have been prevalent of late concerning a wellknown’medical practitioner, exile from Nazi Germany, who is resident in the vicinity of Wellington. Inquiries made of the Commissioner of Police have elicited the fact that the current rumeurs are absolutely false. These rumours are to a high degree malicious and injurious. "It was announced some weeks ago that a certain G 41’ngton resident had been interned but no name was mentioned. Unfortunately for the doctor, rumour has singled him out as the person concerned.”
