YOUNG COWS PERFORMANCE
Holding the record for milk production as a heifer, the British Friesian Vermuyden Buttercup, owned by Mr W. S. Furness, a Yorkshire beeder, has given another 2000 gallon yield. Born in March, 1935, Vermuyden Buttercup had her first calf when less than 2h years of age. She then gave 2560 gallons in 365 days. She next calved when three years and nine months old, and since then has already produced 2037 gallons in 271 days. Accordingly, at not more than years of age, she has an aggregate milk total in excess of 4500 gallons. She is still giving nearly five gallons daily.
