HEAVY RAIN IN NORTHLAND By Telegraph —Press Association WHANGAREI, January 16 Except for minor flooding of some by-roads, the week-end rainfall of nearly seven inches caused no traffic dislocation in North Auckland. At Waipu Cove, a bach, situated normally above the sea level, was swept off its foundations by waves and deposited 100 yards up the creek, the occupants, who escaped just in time, losing some personal effects. Apart from this, no damage is reported except to fruit crops.
