TRAP SHOOTING
£l5O HANDICAP By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, January 16. Each shooting the possible, 25, I. G. Watkins (Rangiora), A. N. Turner (Christchurch) and J. W. McKenzie (Masterton) divided first, second and third prizes in the £l5O single rise clay target handicap at the New Zealand Gun Clubs’ Association’s centennial trap-shooting tournament which opened on the Hutt Valley Gun Club’s ground to-day. Each took £43/15/-. Turner and McKenzie scored the possible off the first barrel. Watkins used the second barrel on the fifth and twenty-fifth shots. Four were equal with 24—D. P. North (Wanganui), T. Clouston (Lauder), E. Broad (Invercargill), and M. Kearins (Palmerston North)—and they divided fourth and fifth money each taking £4/13/9. There were competitors at the tournament from all parts of New Zealand including nine former New Zealand clay target shooting champions.
