boy with x-ray eyes Two hours before he was due to appear on the stage at Worcester Theatre Royal, one of the artists, a 16-year-old boy, was found dead by his father at his lodgings. A postmortem examination showed that death was due to natural causes. The boy, Roy Donald Lindsay, whose stage name was Marco, appeared with his father in a second-sight act, and was described as “the boy with the X-ray eyes.” Marco, with his eyes covered with a pound of dough and a 20ft. bandage, would name objects held up by the audience and read out sentences which they chalked on a blackboard behind him. The father, Mr David Lindsay, whose home is at Scott House, Ashmill Street, North-west London, told the “News Chronicle”: “My son was supernatural. I am gifted with psychic feelings, but his powers were beyond all comprehension. There was no fakery in many of the experiments he performed. “Thought-Transmission” “My showmanship helped to put the act across, but the latter part of it, in which he read writing being done behind him. was beyond the understanding of mortal beings. He called out what it was before anyone could say a word or pass him any signal. It was just thought-transmission. “His peculiar power was discovered eight years ago, when he would jump up in his sleep and describe many things which could be seen only in his own world. “When he was only eight years old he was walking with some friends down a London street when he told them that someone was struggling in the canal not far away but out of sight. They laughed at him, so he left them and went to the canal. “A boy friend was struggling in the water, and my son dived in and rescued him. He could see in the dark, and he could definitely see things, in other spheres which our minds could not penetrate. “I think he had a psychic knowledge that something was going to happen to him, because we had booked to go to Hull, and he told me just before his death, t will not be going to Hull.’ “Still With Me” “I feel that his spirit is still with me and is guiding me. I cannot explain why, but after I had found him dead i went on the stage and told the audience: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, it is my privilege and pleasure to present to you Marco, unfortunately only in spirit. He is dangerously ill.’ “And then at the end of the last show, while the band played ‘Abide With Me,’ I walked on again and said: ‘I am Marco’s father, Marco is dead.’ ”
